WHY SILK?
Silk provides a seamless and smooth finish and natural properties that support the health of skin and hair. Unlike cotton and synthetic satin fabrics that strip us of our natural oils, create friction and cause damage, silk is nourishing. Silk’s luxurious exterior will not snag and pull-on delicate hair while we are resting. Silk contains essential amino acids, it’s hypoallergenic and has both antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, guarding it from mold and mites.
It is not only beneficial for your hair, but also great for anti-aging and sensitive problem prone skin. Silk has temperature-regulating properties, that keep you warm during the cold months and cool you down if you get a hot flash. It’s naturally wicking, so it won’t hold onto sweat or trap odors in. Sleeping crowned in silk means less frizz, less tangles, less split ends. Sleeping on silk prevents, breakouts and wrinkles for our skin.
SILK VS SATIN, WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL?
Silk is a natural thread that is woven into a fabric while satin is not a material it’s the weaving itself. It has a one-sided sheen. Satin mixes and matches several materials, most of which are synthetic. It can be blended with Cotton, Rayon, Polyester or Acetate.
Satin is manmade to mimic the shine and feel of silk. Silk is made from an extensive process of silkworms feeding from a Mulberry tree. Satin is cheaper to make and buy. It’s also easier to replicate and does not offer the same natural benefits that silk offers.
WHAT HAIR TYPE IS SWURLYCO SILK FOR?
All hair types will benefit from the use of silk. Textured hair is fragile, and often requires more care. Textured hair waves, kinks, it coils, it curls. It’s Swurly. CAN I WEAR MY SWURLYCO TO BED WITH WET HAIR?
It is best practice to not saturate silk with water for long periods of time. We suggest a frizz free dry with our Microfiber Towels instead.
